How bright on the blue
Is a kite when it’s new!
With a dive and a dip
It snaps its tail
Then soars like a ship
With only a sail
As over tides
Of wind it rides,
Climbs to the crest
Of a gust and pulls,
Then seems to rest
As wind falls.
When string goes slack
You wind it back
And run until
A new breeze blows
And its wings fill
And up it goes!

Summary
A brand new kite looks really bright and colourful when the sky is clear and blue. The kite swoops down and tilts to the side, making a cracking sound with its tail. Then, all of a sudden, it flies up high like a ship with a big sail. This kite only has one string holding it up. It rides the strong winds and goes up really high, just like a ship. It moves forward when the wind is strong, but takes a break when the wind gets weak. When the string holding the kite gets loose, the person flying it rolls the string back in. Then they run again until the kite catches the wind and goes up. On a clear blue sky, the new kite looks amazing. Unfortunately, it gets torn apart when it hits the top of a tree and flaps around.
